The Santa Maria La Palma Winery receives a new international award: the Cannonau Riserva 2014 won the prestigious Gold Medal in the Berliner Wein Trophy 2018 competition.
The Berliner Wein Trophy is Germany’s largest and most important international wine tasting. This year a jury of about 200 experts, gathered in Berlin Tegal, tasted about 6,700 different labels, classifying them and selecting those deserving of particular awards. On the basis of the restrictive guidelines of the OIV (International Organization for Vine and Wine, the body that monitors the event), only 30% of the products presented can be awarded a medal.
The Cannonau Riserva managed to position itself in an excellent manner, receiving a gold medal.
The award recognizes the commitment of the Santa Maria La Palma winery team, of the conferring members and of the team of experts and oenologists who constantly studies and refines the wines, in search of quality. Thanks to this work, the Cellar, alongside the white wines of which it is a historic producer, is succeeding in bringing out also its red wines, from Cagnulari to Cannonau, up to Cannonau Riserva.
An important recognition is the company and the territory of Alghero, more and more suited to a production of excellence.
The president, the staff, the management and all the employees of the Santa Maria La Palma winery are extremely satisfied with the results achieved, the result of the innovation and daily work of the more than 300 members who cultivate more than 700 hectares of vineyards in the northwest of Sardinia.
